Thinking of Innocent Victims
      Nowadays, our society has more concern for women and children. Many organizations have been working hard to take good care of women and children. For examples, we promote having healthier foods, preventing child abuse and domestic violent against women, as well. However, an unanswered question is whether or not women have the right to choose to terminate a child while it is in its mother’s womb. I think abortion is a murder for three major reasons.
      First of all, abortion goes against ethical standards. People know that every child is the most harmless and vulnerable creation in the world; therefore the parents and community are supposed to protect and take care of it instead of considering for destroying it. An unborn child hasn’t caused the circumstances that led to its conception. Adults need to take responsibility for their difficulties. It’s completely unfair for the baby if people choose a termination of a fetus as a lazy solution for their problems.
      Furthermore, in this democratic country, everyone expects the equal rights. People always talk about respecting human rights, but why haven’t they cared for many little human beings who can’t speak for their own just treatment? For a long time, children have also been considered the property of their parents. That viewpoint is totally mistaken because children, even unborn babies, are also human beings. The truth is that every fetus has an inevitable progress of development in physical and mental abilities. Nobody should have the capability or right to conclude absolutely any disable unborn baby is not worth living.
      The most important thing is that a fetus is a person. It has the right to life which is the primary right of all creatures. Other rights, including freedom, are built up from there. Women ought to have the liberty to control their own bodies, but it does not mean that they can decide whether another human lives or dies. In 1973, when abortion was legalized in America, technology at that time showed that human life began in the twenty eighth week, so that became the time restriction for abortion. However, for more than thirty years, the more developed equipment have become, the smaller that threshold has grown. Currently, experts believe that after twentieth week, a fetus has chance to survive outside the womb. As a matter of fact, fetus is a person even if it is just twenty weeks old; consequently, abortion means causing death of that person.
      For many years, abortion has been a hot controversial topic in our nation. In my opinion, people who support abortion have been ignoring the ethical aspects. Likewise, they have abused all rights of children including those are unborn by considering them as their parents property. They have denied the truth that a fetus is a person even if it’s just several weeks old and that little person is supposed to have a primary, reasonable right to life. Basing on those reasons, I believe that abortion is murder and maybe it’s time for people to ponder their judgment about abortion.
